An experienced foundation director, Phyllis Cook specializes in advising individuals, families and organizations on achieving their philanthropic objectives. She brings 27 years of experience to PLC, her own non-profit consultancy. Respected for her expertise in philanthropic development and management, she is often sought for her valuable insights on such topics as endowment development, administration, multi-generational philanthropy, grant making and distribution. She also consults on strategy, fundraising and program development for non-profits. Ms. Cook takes pride in her ability to move quickly from ideas to sound execution to assessment of results. She attributes her success to focus.

Ms. Cook graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan and completed graduate work at the University of California, Berkeley. Active in numerous non-profit organizations, she sits on the board of directors of the Rosenberg Foundation, the Bernard Osher Foundation, the Jim Joseph Foundation, the Gerson Bakar Foundation, the Maisin Foundation, the Sarlo Foundation and the Sandler Foundation, among others. Honors of which she is a recipient include a Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Jewish Community Organization Personnel, a Founder’s Medallion from Hebrew Union College, a Trustee’s Citation from UC Berkeley, and the Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Leadership Award. Ms. Cook looks forward to continuing to assist others to achieve their philanthropic goals.
